A white wine made from red grapes and 100% Cab Franc. Red Willow, located on the western edge of the Yakima Valley and just east of the Cascades, is one of Washington state’s most distinguished vineyards. The Cab Franc for this wine is from a newer block at the vineyard and is the same block used for our 2016 and 2017 Rosé. For 2018 I wanted to focus on the fact that its a single varietal Cab Franc, whole-cluster direct- pressed to preserve its natural acidity and not manipulated in any way with color (from red wine or longer maceration) to appease to a Rosé branding. And from a warmer site like Red Willow which tends to ripen Cab Franc early and lose acidity fast, it seemed like the best way to express the grape in a dynamic wine. This is a crisp and delicious pairing for summer.
